LOYOLA, Santa Clara County — Loyola-area homeowners within the Los Altos Hills County Fire District will be able to request December vegetation chipping service beginning Monday, November 2, 2026.
The official 2026 schedule sets a registration window from November 2 through November 23, with tentative chipping from December 7 through December 18. The district and Santa Clara County FireSafe Council provide the service to eligible residents to reduce brush and hazardous branches removed from around homes. Service windows are approximate and may be delayed by rain, red-flag warnings or logistical conditions.
The district asks property owners to cut and stack acceptable brush near their road or driveway entrance, with cut ends facing the street. Prohibited materials include treated wood, construction debris, stumps, dirt, certain plants and poison oak. Crews cannot accept everything left beside a roadway, and the service should not be confused with normal household garbage pickup.
What local residents should know
Residents should register online and read current preparation instructions before cutting or piling materials. The district says it cannot guarantee a precise pickup day inside its two-week service window.
