LOYOLA, Santa Clara County — The unincorporated community of Loyola falls within the Los Altos Hills County Fire District, which provides locally planned fire protection and emergency preparedness services.

The district says it was established in 1939 and covers Los Altos Hills and nearby unincorporated communities, including Loyola, Los Trancos and San Antonio Hills. It contracts with the Santa Clara County Fire Department for firefighting personnel, apparatus and emergency medical response while maintaining local programs for vegetation management, preparedness classes and emergency water supply. Its service area includes steep streets and wooded properties with wildfire exposure.

The fire district reports managing 552 hydrants in the Purissima Hills Water District service area, but that figure describes the district’s infrastructure, not 552 hydrants located in Loyola alone. Property owners should use the district’s jurisdiction map to verify exact coverage, especially near incorporated city boundaries.
